Bug Jam is an iPhone game from Wooden Amethyst. Contact [email protected] with any privacy question.

Your game progress

Bug Jam has no account or sign-in. Your cleared gardens, Journey stars and trophies, bug journal, restorations and settings (sound, motion and haptics) are saved on your device only. We do not receive them, and they are not backed up to our servers. Deleting the app deletes this progress, although Apple's device backups may keep a copy.

Journey backups and imports

You can export your Journey progress as a backup file and save or share it with the iOS share sheet, and you can import a progress file you choose in the Files app. These files contain game statistics only, such as unlocked puzzles, stars, best scores and trophy counts. They do not contain your name, email address or any account identifier. The game only reads a file you pick, and a backup only goes where you choose to send it.

Advertising

Bug Jam is free because it shows occasional full-screen ads between levels, never during a puzzle. Ads are provided by Google AdMob. The game asks Google for non-personalised ads, and it never asks for permission to track you, so it does not use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA).

Even non-personalised ads involve some data processing. To deliver and measure ads, limit how often you see them, prevent fraud and remember your privacy choices, Google and the advertising partners it works with may collect information from your device, such as:

  • the identifier for vendors (IDFV)
  • your IP address and the approximate location derived from it
  • device and app details, such as model, operating system, language, time zone and network type
  • how you interact with ads, and basic diagnostic information

Where the law requires consent (for example in the EU, UK and some US states), Google's privacy form appears before any ad is requested. You can review or change your choices at any time with Ad privacy choices on the game's Ad-free screen. If the privacy check can't be completed, the game simply doesn't show ads.

Google explains how it uses information from apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and its full privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.

In-app purchases

Remove ads is an optional one-time purchase sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your payment details. The game receives a verified record of the purchase from Apple so it can turn ads off, and Restore purchases asks Apple to check that record again.

If you own Remove ads, the game stops requesting and showing ads.

What we do not do

We do not run our own servers for Bug Jam, we do not use analytics or tracking tools of our own, we do not ask for your name or email address, and we do not sell your personal information.

Children

Bug Jam is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
