How SignalRoom handles your local data and permissions.

Last updated: 2026-09-06

SignalRoom does not automatically upload your monitoring or AI usage data to us. System monitoring and local usage analysis happen on your Mac. We do not sell your personal information.

Information used on your Mac

SignalRoom processes system performance, hardware and battery measurements; upcoming calendar events after permission; Claude Code and Codex usage records in folders you choose; supported Now Playing information; settings, metric and battery history, recent alerts and permission bookmarks.

This information is displayed locally. SignalRoom contains no advertising, behavioural analytics or third-party tracking SDK. It does not read Codex authentication files or store your CLI account credentials.

Weather

When you enable weather, SignalRoom sends the location you selected directly to Apple WeatherKit to retrieve a forecast. The Mac App Store edition uses its built-in WeatherKit entitlement. In the direct edition, a WeatherKit private key you select is read only to sign a short-lived token; its contents are not copied into SignalRoom settings or sent to us. Apple's handling of weather requests is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Optional SignalRoom Helper

The helper adds local hardware and media information unavailable to the sandboxed app. It runs for the logged-in user, not as root. Metrics travel locally between SignalRoom and the helper and are not uploaded by the helper.

Exports and notifications

An export writes the selected history interval as CSV data or a PNG chart only to the destination you choose in the Save dialogue. Exports are not automatically uploaded and may contain timestamps and system measurements. Review a file before sharing it. AI source-folder bookmarks remain read-only.

Notifications are off by default. You choose which categories to enable and can set thresholds, sustained durations, repeat cooldown and quiet hours. Alert decisions and recent alert history remain on your Mac.

Purchases and support

Apple handles App Store payments and restores. SignalRoom checks purchase entitlements through StoreKit to unlock Pro; we do not receive your payment-card details. If you email support, we receive the message and attachments you choose to send and use them to respond. Please do not include passwords, private keys or unredacted conversation logs.

Storage and your choices

Preferences, bounded local history and opaque macOS permission bookmarks remain in your local app data until you reset them or remove that data. SignalRoom has no customer account or cloud database and we hold no copy of that local data. Support correspondence is separate; contact us to request its deletion.

You can remove Claude or Codex folder access, change your forecast city or remove a direct-edition WeatherKit key in SignalRoom Settings. You can revoke Calendar or Automation permission in macOS System Settings and uninstall the optional helper. Removing the app does not automatically remove retained local app data or exported files.
